About the Role:

We are on a mission to reshape how software is built at HSBC - leading the design and development of a next-generation application platform that delivers best-in-class tooling, seamless automation, and an uncompromising developer experience.

In this role, you will:

- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications. Utilize Kubernetes for deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

- Institute state of the art hosting platforms, promote technology sharing and leverage operating environments to achieve greater cost efficiency.

- Lead and develop an effective engineering team through collaboration, communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices.

- Create a sustainable and high performing Engineering organization that is focused on improving compliance to shared OKRs and customer experience.

What we are looking for:

- A strategic leader with deep knowledge of the financial services industry and global marketplace.

- Subject matter expert in Kubernetes and DevSecOps Practices.

- Experience with solution design for technical platforms within a complex industry. Strong hands-on skills in Java based micro-service architectures.

- Ability to write testable, maintainable code including Unit and Regression Tests.

- Hands-on experience with container orchestration. Familiarity with Node.js and Go-Lang is an added advantage.
